Summer is right around the corner, and the weather seems to be breaking earlier this year in plenty of areas around the United States, which means it’s time to get out of the house and plan some fun activities for you and your Labrador Retriever.
Camping & Hiking
Don’t sit around your home when the weather is nice out. It’s time to go on some easy, yet active hikes with your Labrador Retriever. This will benefit you and your Labrador Retriever because you’ll both be getting exercise. It’s also a bonding moment for you and your dog. Camping can be a great way to explore the outdoors as well.
Dog-Friendly Bars/Restaurants
Once the weather is nice for the season, many people like to get out to bars and restaurants and hang out outdoors. If you’re someone who enjoys sitting out on a patio with friends, try and find dog-friendly establishments, so you don’t have to leave your Labrador Retriever home alone. This will be a good thing for both of you because you can meet other dog owners, and it will give your Labrador a chance to get comfortable around other dogs and people.
Picnic on the Beach
Once beaches are nice enough to venture to, your Labrador should be tagging along with you. You can even spend the day out on the beach. Pack a picnic basket and bring treats for them. This is a bonding experience and a treat for your dog to be able to enjoy a day outside. One thing to remember is not to go out on an extremely hot day because this won’t be healthy for you or your Labrador Retriever.
Long Drives
Most dogs like to get in the backseat of the car and go for a ride. There’s something amazing about going for long drives in the summer with the windows down. You and your Labrador Retriever will enjoy these very much. It’s important to spend time with your Labrador Retriever, and long drives in the summer to an ice cream shop several towns over will make you both very satisfied.
